Meet Justin Schmalholz. Justin is a 21 year old Photographer from Armonk, New York who began his own production company, Justin Lake Productions, at just 17 years old. For years Justin has cherished capturing the split moments that we tend to miss and making them last a lifetime. Currently, Justin is studying at Emerson College. Already, the young photographer has photographed for big-name brands, such as Nickelodeon, MTV, NFL, and Arizona Iced Tea. Justin plans to focus his work around live events and concert photography, while additionally specializing in landscape, fashion, and product photography. At such a young age, Justin Schmalholz has accomplished great things, and audiences can see why through his captivating images.

Where/how do you gather inspiration?

I get inspiration by [continuing] to expose myself to creative people who are also in pursuit of capturing meaningful photography. I mostly use instagram to gather inspiration on social media, but I also love to connect and learn from other photographers about the way they shoot. I’m lucky enough to have some amazing mentors who have taught me so much about capturing emotional imagery.

What do you hope audiences retain from your work?

I hope that people are able to appreciate the importance of capturing split second moments that may not seem important in the moment but later on become so much more special. I also hope my photos are able to transport people right back into that specific moment. If that happens, I’ve done my job.
